The paisan princess
in her little room
with big bed overhead
perching prettily
among the bedclothes and baubles
vigilant against vexing vermin:
bugs, ghosts, and dissed-possessions
and macabre movie memories
until she runs next door
to sleeping soundly softly sister
and succumbs to dreams of me.
